Back in the '80s I took my dogs to a kennel when I left town. I didn't like leaving them at a kennel penned in a small concrete run but there were no alternatives. Then our friends told us about leaving their pets at home and a pet sitter would take care of them. A new concept---a pet sitter! I loved the pet sitter plan leaving my dogs at home and in their familiar surroundings plus keeping house safe from intruders while gone.
In the early '90s our pet sitter had a baby and needed help with her pet sitting jobs. I assisted her and found I really enjoyed taking care of other people's pets. A full time job ended this work for me at the late 90s but in 2004, I moved to Alexander and wanted to work close to home so I began pet sitting on my own.
I've loved dogs and cats all my life. My first pet was a gold fish and then at 12 I adopted 2 kittens called Tiger and Cocoa. Casar, my dog now is my fifth dog. I look forward to our walks every morning and evening. It relaxes me, gives me perspective and helps to ground me. Taking care of my customer's cats and dogs while they are gone, is a pleasure. I feel lucky to spend time with these special animals.
